RONDA ROUSEY REVEALS MAIN REASON FOR LEAVING WWE AND WHY SHE WILL NEVER RETURN

Former WWE women’s champion Ronda Rousey revealed the number one reason for her departure from the wrestling company.

Rousey first arrived in the company back in 2018, making her debut at the Royal Rumble.

The former UFC star went on to compete at WrestleMania that year, teaming up with Kurt Angle to take on Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.

That match sparked the beginning of Rousey’s run as a big WWE star which saw her main event WrestleMania 35.

Rousey took a hiatus from WWE after losing the women’s championship to Becky Lynch, but came back for a second stint in 2022.

Upon her return, the audience seemingly lost their love for the former MMA star. Whether it was her underwhelming in-ring work or poor promos, fan reaction was largely negative.

“I got into WWE because I wanted to be able to wrestle my girls, you know, the Four Horsewomen, and be able to wrestle my friends,” said Rousey on The Lapsed Fan podcast.

“They kind of dangled that carrot for my whole run and never let it happen.”

She added: “Then the second run, they kept dangling it. And then by the end, I was like, ‘I’m f*****g leaving unless I can wrestle with Shayna [Baszler]. And that’s how I was able to do it at all.’”

Is Ronda Rousey done with pro wrestling?

When asked whether professional wrestling was behind her, Rousey confirmed that was the case, saying: “Pretty much, I’d say do.”

Looking back at her frustration with the creative process in WWE, she was no less scathing.

She said: “It got to the point where I’m just like, they’re never going to allow me to make it as good as it can be, and, like, meeting them halfway in this range of mediocrity is like crushing my soul. So I can’t continue to do that.”
