John Cena’s WWE career is rapidly coming to an end, with the date for his final in-ring appearance finally revealed.
The 48-year-old is about to close the curtain on one of the most iconic wrestling careers of all time.
Cena has been involved in some of the most memorable storylines, angles and moments in WWE history. He has also been the face of the company for much of his 24-year career.
The record-breaking 17-time WWE champion is in the midst of his final in-ring run, of which he has just four months remaining.
Cena promised to retire at the end of this calendar year, and according to NBC Sports, his final match will take place on December 13.
The WWE have pencilled in a Premium Live Event on that date, with Saturday Night’s Main Event XLII set to be the stage for Cena’s final match.
The show will be streamed exclusively on Peacock as part of WWE’s latest broadcasting shakeup.

The announcement of a date for Cena’s final match prompted social media debate over his possible opponent.
Drew McIntyre has been outlined as a possible contender, with fans citing his recent segments on SmackDown.
Others have suggested Cena should cap off his career by taking on an old adversary.
Brock Lesnar, who took out Cena at the end of SummerSlam, would be an obvious choice.
Iconic rival Randy Orton would be another solid contender for the farewell match.
There is also unfinished business with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. Cena and Rock had two famous WrestleMania matches, with both men picking up a win each.
Speaking of unfinished business, a storyline between Cena and CM Punk would certainly make sense.
Alternatively, Cena could use his final match to help elevate a younger talent.
Gunther has been on the rise in the company for many years, and a big program with Cena would only elevate his stock. The same goes for the likes of LA Knight or Bron Breakker.
