Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson shock fans with new lean look amid huge weight loss

Footage of Dwayne Johnson has gone viral after the actor unveiled his new lean look to the public for the first time.

The Rock is currently promoting his new movie ‘The Smashing Machine’ which documents the life of UFC pioneer Mark Kerr.

The movie looks back on Kerr’s MMA rise in the late 1990s, before highlighting his issues with addiction.

Johnson has clearly embarked on a body transformation since shooting the movie, with the Independent claiming he has lost as much as 60lbs.

The former WWE star was spotted at the Venice film festival, with fans left in shock at his current physique.

“This transformation was something I was really hungry to do,” Johnson said during the festival according to the Hollywood Reporter.

“I had been very fortunate to have the career that I’ve had over the years and to make the films that I’ve made, but there was just a voice inside of me, a little voice that said, ‘Well, what if I could do more — I want to do more and what does that look like?”

Is The Rock struggling with health issues?

Last June, Johnson revealed that he had been battling with a gut-related health issues for a number of years.

The former multi-time WWE champion opened up on the issue during his appearance on The Mark Hyman Show.

He said: “What’s going on?’ I said, ‘I’ve seen doctors and I can’t quite nail it. I can’t quite fix it. It’s in my digestion,”

“I feel great — and that’s the odd thing — but I just can’t crack it.’”

The Rock started treatment for his health ailments in early 2024.

On top of that, the actor has been juggling a number of plates, including his WWE gig and the releases of his new films. These include Red One, Moana 2, and now, The Smashing Machine.
