CONFIRMED: WWE QUIETLY RELEASES FORMER CHAMPION AFTER SUSPECTED WELLNESS VIOLATION

WWE quietly parted ways with Andrade over the weekend, moving him to the alumni section of the company website on Saturday.

Reports later confirmed the release was disciplinary, not budget-related, and came directly from the company rather than the talent asking to leave.

The move followed weeks of speculation after Andrade had been missing from backstage and internal rosters.

WWE cut ties with Andrade

The Takedown on SI reported that he had recently been suspended without pay following a violation of the wellness policy.

Sources said he was even escorted out of a SmackDown taping last month, an incident that derailed creative plans for his partnership with Rey Fenix.

This was not the first such issue in his career. Back in 2020 he served a 30-day suspension for violating the same policy during his first WWE run.

He left for AEW a year later, where further problems emerged after a backstage clash with Sammy Guevara.

Despite the cloud surrounding his exit, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T was quick to praise his talent.

Speaking on his podcast, he said: “I don’t know what happened. But I know since Andrade came back, he really hadn’t been used a whole lot. The dude’s a hell of a worker. I always thought Andrade was a really, really good worker.

“He had the American style pretty much down and then he started flying and doing stuff, I was like, ‘Wow, this guy’s really, really good.’

“Not being able to speak English fluent (holds you back), it really does… I think that might have held Andrade back just a little bit.”

Booker compared him to Eddie Guerrero, suggesting fluency had given Eddie an edge: “That’s why a guy like Eddie went so far in the business, because he was fluent in Spanish as well as English.”

For his part, Andrade kept his response brief. On September 15, he posted “Thank you WWE!!!” on X, with the message attracting more than 1.5 million views.

He also shared a handwritten “THANK YOU!” note on Instagram alongside the hashtag #wwe.

Neither message addressed the reason behind his departure, but they confirmed his time with the company is once again over.
