WATCH: DEIVESON FIGUEIREDO SHARES MESSAGE AFTER SURVIVING SERIOUS CAR CRASH IN BRAZIL

Former UFC flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo says he’s lucky to be alive after a terrifying car crash in his hometown in northern Brazil.

The 35-year-old fighter shared footage of the wreckage on Instagram, confirming that his vehicle flipped several times after being struck by another car on Monday afternoon.

According to Figueiredo, the crash happened on Quintino Bocaiuva Street in Pará when a woman driving at high speed collided with his car.

In his post, he suggested the other driver appeared to be fleeing the scene of another incident.

“Thank God for the deliverance,” Figueiredo wrote. “A lady at high speed, apparently on the run, hit the middle of my vehicle, causing it to flip several times.”

Deiveson Figueiredo unhurt in car crash

Despite the dramatic footage, the former champion escaped without serious injuries. His car sustained heavy damage, but he told fans he is safe and recovering at home.

Local reports said emergency services arrived quickly, though Figueiredo didn’t need hospital treatment. Authorities have not yet identified the driver who struck him.

Known as “Deus da Guerra” — the God of War — Figueiredo thanked supporters who flooded his social media with messages of concern.

“Thank God I’m fine,” he added in Portuguese. “It could have been much worse.”

Fans and fighters react to the news

Within hours of the post, fighters and fans filled his comment section with relief.

Former UFC contender Thiago Santos wrote, “God protected you, brother,” while thousands of fans echoed similar messages.

One fan replied, “That car looks finished. So glad you’re okay.” Another added, “Sheesh, thankfully no one was hurt!”

The outpouring highlighted Figueiredo’s popularity in Brazil, where he remains one of the country’s most decorated mixed martial artists.

Focus shifts to Figueiredo’s UFC return

Just weeks before the Deiveson Figueiredo car accident, the former champion had returned to the win column, defeating Montel Jackson at UFC Rio.

The victory ended a two-fight losing streak and reignited talk of a bantamweight title push.

Figueiredo had recently called out Merab Dvalishvili for a potential bout, but his future plans now hinge on a full recovery.

UFC sources say he avoided further damage to his surgically repaired knee, which kept him sidelined for part of last year.

A February return remains possible. Reports suggest he could face Song Yadong or Mario Bautista on a UFC Australia card early next year.
