SOCCER STAR THOMAS PARTEY GRANTED BAIL AFTER DENYING RAPE AND SEXUAL ASSAULT CHARGES

Former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has denied six sexual offence charges after appearing in court on Tuesday. He now faces a trial later this year.

The 32-year-old soccer player from Ghana stood before Westminster Magistrates’ Court in connection with five counts of rape and one of sexual assault.

The alleged offences involve three women and date back to 2021 and 2022, while Partey was playing for Arsenal.

Partey appeared in court dressed in black and carrying a navy blazer. He stood with his arms behind his back and confirmed his name, as well as his understanding of the bail conditions.

Partey cannot contact any of the three complainants and must inform the police of any permanent address change. He must also report any overseas travel and notify police if he stays at another residence for more than 14 days.

The Metropolitan Police began investigating in early 2022 after receiving an initial rape report. The case has since developed to include six separate charges.

Thomas Partey set to join Villarreal

Partey’s contract with Arsenal ended in June. He left the club four years after joining from Atletico Madrid in a $60million deal.

Partey made 105 appearances for the Gunners, scoring six goals, and featured 35 times in the Premier League last season.

He previously spent eight years at Atletico Madrid, including loan spells with Mallorca and Leganes. Reports now suggest he is close to signing a one-year contract with Villarreal, with an option to extend for another season.

In court, Goldspring acknowledged that Partey is no longer employed in the UK and expects to continue his career in Spain.

Partey’s lawyer, Jenny Wiltshire, issued a brief statement on his position.

“Mr Partey denies all the charges against him. He welcomes the opportunity to finally clear his name.”

His next court appearance is scheduled for September 2 at the Old Bailey in London, England.
