Taylor Swift didn’t attend the Kansas City Chiefs’ first home game of the season…or did she?
Fans at the Arrowhead Stadium were surprised not to see the popstar watching her fiancé Travis Kelce, in 17-20 defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles, from her usual private suite.
But then footage of what could have been Swift arriving behind a giant screen, sent social media into meltdown about why she had gone into hiding.
The large mysterious and cumbersome black screen was unclipped by personnel and then slowly rolled through an entrance area inside Arrowhead Stadium, as security guards loomed around it.
The screen did its job as the fans’ view of whatever, or whoever, was behind it was totally obscured.
Many fans were unsure that Swift was behind the screen, but several recognised one of her bodyguards was in attendance.
Online sleuths then began speculating about why she may have hidden away, with Swift being pregnant one of the many unfounded claims.
‘She pregnant?!?!? I know I shouldn’t assume, but what else could it be??? Maybe she broke a leg or something??’
‘She’s pregnant, shotgun wedding incoming,’ said another.
Others put the unusual move down to an increase in security following the shooting of Charlie Kirk earlier in the week.
“It is to do with security. People have no idea the threats this woman receives. Dare say her security team have required this” said one poster on X.
“I wonder if there were people that were threatening to kill her so they had to ramp up security even more than normal,” said another.
