The Deion Sanders dating talk is heating up again, after the NFL legend dodged a question about actress Karrueche Tran during a podcast appearance.
Asante Samuel asked Sanders directly about his rumoured relationship with the actress during last week’s episode of Say What Needs To Be Said, but Sanders laughed it off.
“Everyone saw Karrueche Tran by your side during your hospital visit. Everyone wants to know what that friendship is,” Samuel said.
Sanders responded with a smile. “We got a bad connection,” he joked, pretending the audio had cut. “I can’t hear [you].”
The rumours started days earlier, after Sanders released a behind-the-scenes video about his recent cancer battle. Tran, 37, appeared in the footage multiple times, including one clip where she cried at his bedside before surgery.
The video came from Sanders’ son Deion Jr., whose company Well Off Media documented the recovery. Fans quickly picked up on Tran’s presence and began speculating.
Before the gossip kicked off, Sanders made headlines by revealing his bladder cancer diagnosis. He had surgery in May to remove his bladder, and his doctors now say he’s cancer-free.
“I always knew I was going to coach again,” he said at a press conference on July 28. “It was never in my spirit, in my heart that God wouldn’t allow me to coach again.”
Sanders, now 57, confirmed the tumour was “high grade” and said the experience forced him to write a will. “That’s not easy at all, to think that you may not be here.”
Dr Janet Kukreja, his doctor, performed the robot-assisted operation and confirmed it successfully cured the two-time Super Bowl winner.
Sanders also urged others, particularly black men, to get regular health checks.
The former NFL and MLB star plans to continue coaching the Colorado Buffaloes, who open the 2025 college football season in September.
Deion Sanders dating history
Sanders ended his engagement to Tracey Edmonds in December 2023. In a joint statement, the couple said they had decided to move forward “as friends.”
Tran’s high-profile dating history includes an on-and-off relationship with Chris Brown between 2011 and 2015. She has also been linked to Rob Kardashian.
Neither Sanders nor Tran has addressed the latest speculation directly. But the Deion Sanders dating rumours don’t seem to be going anywhere.
