Jason Kelce opened up about Taylor Swift and her impact this week, sharing why his brother’s relationship has meant more to him than the headlines around it.
Speaking on a bonus episode of the New Heights podcast, Jason discussed the effect Swift has had on young girls and the families now watching games because of her.
It came up during a conversation with Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson, who both played early roles in encouraging the Travis and Taylor pairing.
Jason Kelce on Taylor Swift
“You just mentioned Taylor and how much she’s gotten girls into the sport and dads and daughters together.
“That’s one of the coolest things I get when people talk about Taylor and Travis Kelce and hearing from dads or hearing from daughters about that,” Jason said. “It’s an awesome thing.”
Thompson agreed, saying Swift had created a new connection point for families watching the NFL.
“Those little girls that maybe didn’t have an interest in football and then sit down because it’s her,” she said.
“Like, the commercials and the different little videos that you see that now all of a sudden the dads have a bond with their daughter over her, like, is so special.”
The broadcasters also reflected on how they nudged the relationship along back in 2023. After Travis mentioned Swift on New Heights, Andrews took the moment to make her case directly.
“Taylor, I don’t know what you are doing in your life right now besides rocking the world. Please try our friend Travis. He is fantastic,” Andrews said at the time. “Go on a date with this guy. Do it for America.”
Thompson added, “There’s no one who would give you a better time than this guy.”
More praise from Jason Kelce
This isn’t the first time Jason has spoken warmly about the couple.
In September, he reacted to Swift calling Travis a “human exclamation point” during her record-breaking appearance on their podcast.
“The human exclamation point was the best way I’ve ever heard Travis described in my life. I think it’s such an accurate statement,” he said.
“The dude just brings joy to every place he ever is, and people love him. And he makes everything better.”
