Jason Kelce has shared an embarrassing story about Taylor Swift, beer, and a mix-up that left him red-faced.
The retired Philadelphia Eagles center, 37, appeared on the Bussin’ with the Boys podcast on Tuesday, September 2. He recalled a light-hearted but humiliating moment involving his brother Travis Kelce’s fiancée Swift.
“I’ve got a very embarrassing story from last night about beer,” Jason said. “So I’m drinking beer, and I’m not really hammering ’em. I’m just kind of putting one back every 30 minutes or something.
“I’m just kind of enjoying beers last night, and I think it was third quarter [of a game he was watching], I find out that I’ve been drinking non-alcoholic beer the entire day,” he continued with a laugh.
“It was the most amount of shame I’ve ever felt in myself. I was just like, ‘What the f— is wrong with you, Jason!?’ ”
Asked who noticed, Jason admitted it was Swift. “Taylor,” he said simply.
According to Jason, she told him Travis had also been caught out. “Because she said Travis had just been doing the same thing, and he’s ashamed. I’m like, ‘Time out, Travis. There’s non-alcoholic beer here!?’ ”
He added, “We had both been drinking these Budweiser Zeros, thinking they were just something like zero-calorie Budweiser.”
The realization stung. “I just wasted three-quarters of my life,” Jason joked.
Not Jason Kelce’s first rodeo
This isn’t his first awkward beer moment around Swift. During her recent Eras Tour shows in London, she recalled Jason’s panic when meeting members of the royal family.
“He was like, ‘What do I do with my beer?’ ” Travis explained on their New Heights podcast.
Swift added, “I watched him have this moment with his beer where he was like, ‘But I want to take it, but I know that I probably should not take it.’ I watched this happen, and it kind of was the most amazing…”
Jason Kelce also used his Bussin’ with the Boys appearance to reflect on how Taylor Swift described Travis.
“It’s like you’re listening to somebody describe your brother… the human exclamation point was like the best way I’ve ever heard Travis described in my life,” he said.
“I love my brother and I just want him to have like the most fulfilled, best life possible,” he added.
