Former NFL star Ryan Clark has issued a public apology to ESPN reporter Peter Schrager following a heated argument on live TV.
The awkward exchange took place on ESPN’s ‘Get Up’ show, with the panel of experts discussing Dallas Cowboys star CeeDee Lamb.
During the defeat to Philadelphia, Lamb produced a 110-yard, four-drop performance – one which caused a stir on the show.
Clark was seemingly irked by Schrager’s opinions, and attacked the reporter on his total lack of playing experience.

“We shouldn’t do this on TV,” Clark cautiously started. “I apologize if people think this is rude — that’s the non-player in you.”
Schrager, who has Fox Sports and NFL Network experience, immediately hit back.
“Stop,” said the reporter. “I’m not looking at fantasy football. Ryan, don’t belittle me like that. I can come and say as three ex-players are saying one thing, and give an alternative perspective.”
Clark, however, was not done there.
“What I need you to do is to not get mad and let me finish for one. It wasn’t about you, it was going to be about me.”
Clark went on to give his opinions on Lamb, though his interaction with Schrager did not go unnoticed.
The former Pittsburgh Steelers safety has since issued an apology. He also alluded to something else that happened off air.
“Today, I had an interaction with my colleague both on and off the air that I regret,” Clark wrote on X.
“I have apologized to Peter and taken accountability with ESPN leadership. I value working with Peter and look forward to this season.
“My focus will remain on professionalism, teamwork, and being a better teammate moving forward.”
Clark was already in hot water following a series of controversies. His most recent one came after claiming that retired quarterbacks Tom Brady, Drew Brees and Peyton Manning were not ‘generational talents’.
