Former NFL quarterback, Jay Cutler, has been jailed following two offences during an incident in October 2024, one of which he pleaded guilty to in August 2025.
The most common crime among NFL player arrests is reportedly DUIs, and that’s what’s seen former 12-season quarterback Cutler locked up.
In October 2024, he is reported to have rear-ended another vehicle, before offering to pay the other driver $2000 to let him drive away without calling the cops.
But they were called and reported Cutler having bloodshot eyes, slurring his words and smelling of alcohol. He reportedly refused a field sobriety test and had two firearms in the vehicle.
Cutler pleaded guilty to driving under the influence in August, as part of a deal which saw charges against him having a firearm dropped.
He was ordered to pay a $350 fine, and is serving four days in jail, which began on Monday morning, in Williamson County, Tennessee.
It was reported elsewhere that Cutler is on unsupervised probation for a year as a result of the misdemeanour.
The DUI is the first reported issue Cutler has had with the law.
