THE BEST AND MOST BRUTAL MEMES AS BILL BELICHICK BOMBS ON UNC DEBUT

Bill Belichick made his long-awaited college football debut at North Carolina, but instead of glory it quickly turned into a meme factory.

The six-time Super Bowl winner made his head coaching debut for North Carolina against TCU on Monday night.

After an encouraging opening drive, his Tar Heels collapsed. The Horned Frogs rattled off 41 unanswered points, cruising to a 48-14 victory.

On the sideline, Belichick cut his usual stoic figure. Online, fans had a field day. Jokes about the lopsided score mixed freely with cracks about his relationship with much-younger partner Jordon Hudson.

Internet compounds Bill Belichick debut dud

“Coincidentally, Bill Belichick was 41 when Jordon Hudson was 7,” one fan wrote, pairing the quip with the scoreboard reading 41-7. The gag quickly went viral, racking up tens of thousands of likes.

Another pointed out that UNC’s quarterback, Max Johnson, is the same age as Hudson, while a third suggested she should be calling plays after her viral interruption of Belichick’s CBS interview earlier this year.

Even Belichick’s familiar hoodie look drew fire. “Regular season form,” one account joked alongside his short, monotone pre-game answers.

For a man who once treated NFL press conferences like a chess match, the college stage looked much less forgiving.

The off-field circus has followed Belichick since he landed in Chapel Hill. His relationship with Hudson has dominated headlines, drawing more attention than his roster overhaul or his book release.

On opening night, that narrative fused with football failure, creating perfect storm material for social media.

Not everything was a joke. Belichick offered a blunt assessment post-game. “They just outplayed us, they outcoached us and they were better than we were. That’s all there is to it,” he said.

It was a humbling moment. In 511 NFL games, Belichick’s defenses never gave up 48 points. It took just one outing in college for that to happen. Only a late TCU kneel spared him from conceding 50.

Whether Bill Belichick can turn things around after such a poor debut remains to be seen. His next chance comes Saturday against Charlotte. Online, however, fans are unlikely to give him the same grace period.

When your debut ends 48-14, and your personal life provides endless punchlines, the internet will make sure you feel every bit of it.
