The NFL has once again been a great spectacle for fans in 2025, with action-packed games happening everywhere you look, and some of the biggest names cropping up with some huge moments.
We have seen some of the stars break new ground, and there have been some unexpected runs of form.
Here, we have looked into seven NFL records already broken in 2025.
Indianapolis Colts
The Colts unbelievably became the first team in NFL history to score on their opening 10 drives of the season.
That was largely down to their new quarterback Daniel Jones, who set his own record…
Daniel Jones
Indeed, it also saw Jones become the first NFL player in history to throw for at least 250 yards, no interceptions, and complete a rushing touchdown within the first two games of the season.
That saw the Colts record wins in their first two games in 2025-26, and they added a third in Week 3.
Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery
The Detroit Lions have two of the league’s finest running backs in their ranks, and they’re hitting new heights together.
Gibbs and Montgomery tied the record for two running backs scoring a touchdown for the same team in the same game, doing so for the 10th time when they beat the Chicago Bears 52-21 on September 14.
Josh Allen
Josh Allen has continued to show he’s one of the very best players in the league in 2025.
The Buffalo Bills quarterback proved his stardom most recently by picking up his 300th career touchdown – surpassing Patrick Mahomes’ record as the fastest player in NFL history to do so.
Allen did so against the Miami Dolphins in Week 3 of the 2025-26 season, hitting Dalton Kincaid for a 20-yard TD and the record.
Saquon Barkley
Barkley’s move from the New York Giants to the Philadelphia Eagles has allowed him to express himself more than he did with his previous organisation.
In the 2024-25 regular season, he became Offensive Player of the Year and the ninth player ever to rush for 2000 yards.
The 2504 yards he ended rushing for when combining his regular season and postseason statistics set a new NFL record. It is little surprise he also won the Super Bowl.
Brandon Aubrey
Former Toronto FC and Philadelphia Union center-back Aubrey is an enigma, hanging up his soccer cleats for a pair of football ones and becoming one of the most powerful kickers in the NFL.
He has a raft of huge efforts to his name, and he’s setting records with some clutch ones, too.
When his Dallas Cowboys faced the Giants on September 14, Aubrey became the first player in NFL history to convert a game-tying field goal with no time left on the clock, and then hit the game-winning field goal with time up in overtime.
Indianapolis Colts (again)
The unexpected upturn in the Colts’ offence has meant their special teams unit has hardly seen the field.
Indeed, the Colts punted just once in their first three games in the 2025-26 season, making them the team with the fewest punts in the first three games of an NFL season since 1942.
In the first two games, they did not punt once, and are the sole team in the Super Bowl era with that record.
