2025 turned into a baby boom across the sports world, with sports stars becoming parents for the first, second, or even third time!
From NFL quarterbacks and MLB icons to Olympic champions and global football stars, a new generation arrived as their parents pushed through some of the biggest moments of their careers.
Here are 13 sports stars who became parents in 2025, celebrating new chapters both at home and on the field.
Patrick Mahomes – NFL
Patrick and Brittany Mahomes welcomed their third child in January, a daughter named Golden Raye. The announcement landed during a demanding stretch of the Chiefs’ season, yet Mahomes still managed to look unshakeable on Sundays.
Their growing family now includes Sterling, Bronze and Golden, completing the NFL’s most famous collection of metallic monikers.
Brock Purdy – NFL
Brock Purdy and his wife Jenna became first-time parents in July, introducing daughter Millie Joleen to the world. The 49ers quarterback shared the update with a calmness that mirrors the way he runs Kyle Shanahan’s offence.
It’s been a whirlwind rise from Mr Irrelevant to franchise star.
Dak Prescott – NFL
Dak Prescott and fiancée Sarah Jane Ramos welcomed their second daughter, Aurora Rayne, in May. Prescott marked the moment with a grateful message and a photo that travelled quickly across Cowboys Nation.
He stepped back into his day job immediately, guiding Dallas through another season where expectations haven’t quite been met.
Trevor Lawrence – NFL

Jason Kelce – NFL
Jason Kelce and wife Kylie added another little Eagles fan to the family in March, welcoming daughter Finnley Anne. Kylie posted the announcement with her usual dry humour, while Jason embraced life with three girls.
The retired centre has moved fully into media and podcasting, often with at least one Kelce child making a cameo near the microphone.
J.J. Watt – NFL
J.J. Watt and Kealia Watt celebrated the birth of their son, Niko Benjamin, in June. The photo set included big brother Koa beaming next to the hospital bed.
J.J. Watt may be retired, but his familiar face spends time behind the screen these days, providing colour commentary for ESPN.
T.J. Watt – NFL
Steelers star T.J. Watt and his wife Dani welcomed their first child, Blakely Marie, earlier in the year. Dani described the moment as “worth the wait,” hinting at a slightly longer journey to get there.
Watt remains an integral part of a Pittsburgh defence that ranks in the middle of the pack.
Shohei Ohtani – MLB
Shohei Ohtani and his wife, Mamiko Tanaka, announced the birth of their daughter in 2025. Ohtani posted a rare personal message addressed “To my daughter,” thanking fans and the Dodgers for their support.
It arrived during one of the most scrutinised seasons of his career, but the year ended with the Dodgers claiming the MLB World Series.
Justin Verlander – MLB
Justin Verlander and Kate Upton welcomed their second child in June, a son named Bellamy Brooks. Upton’s rep confirmed the news, and the family quickly shared a few early photos.
Verlander continues to pitch deep into his forties, with 2025 demonstrating his incredible longevity.
Alex Morgan – Football
Alex Morgan and husband Servando Carrasco introduced their second child, Enzo, in March. Morgan shared black-and-white snapshots of the newborn’s tiny feet and hands.

Ryan Murphy – Swimming
Olympic backstroke champion Ryan Murphy and his wife, Bridget, welcomed daughter Eevi Lillian at the end of January. The pair explained that her name means “life,” a fitting description for a year already marked by renewal.

Luka Dončić – NBA
Luka Dončić and fiancée Anamaria Goltes welcomed their second daughter, Olivia, in December. Dončić travelled home to Slovenia for the birth, a brief pause during a season where he led the NBA in scoring.
