WILL MIKE VRABEL SACRIFICE HIS P*NIS TO LEAD THE PATRIOTS TO SUPER BOWL GLORY?

Mike Vrabel has never been shy with a soundbite, and one of his most infamous quotes followed him back into the spotlight this week as the Patriots head coach prepares for another Super Bowl.

Six years after joking he would sacrifice his manhood to win another Lombardi Trophy, Vrabel was asked the obvious follow-up question.

Was he still serious?

Mike Vrabel to sacrifice manhood?

During an appearance on The Greg Hill Show on Tuesday, Vrabel was reminded of his 2019 appearance on the Bussin’ With The Boys podcast, when he was asked whether he would cut off his penis to win another Super Bowl.

When host Greg Hill asked, “Is that still the plan?”, Vrabel laughed before offering an updated version of the vow.

“Maybe I’ll cut it in half, but I ain’t cutting the whole thing off,” Vrabel said.

He then attempted to explain how the quote came about in the first place.

“That was just to get that young fledgling group, Taylor and Will, to fly into the podcast game and it took off,” Vrabel said, referring to former NFL players Taylor Lewan and Will Compton.

“I say a lot of things I don’t mean.”

Bussin’ With The Boys

Vrabel’s original comment dates back to July 2019, shortly after his first season as head coach of the Tennessee Titans. During that Bussin’ With The Boys appearance, the conversation turned to extreme bets tied to Super Bowl success.

“I have no problem saying, no, I wouldn’t do that,” Lewan said, after noting Vrabel had already won three Super Bowls as a player.

Compton followed with the question that made the clip famous, “Would you cut your d–k off for a Super Bowl?” he asked.

“Yeah, probably,” Vrabel replied.

When reminded of his playing career success, Vrabel doubled down.

“Yeah, [three Super Bowls] as a player.

“Been married 20 years,” he added. “Yeah, probably. You guys will be married for 20 years one day. You won’t need it.”

Vrabel even joked about his wife’s reaction.

“[Jen] would be like, ‘Do you want me to do it? Do you want to do it now?’”

From Titan to Patriot

At the time of the original quote, Vrabel had just guided the Titans to a 9–7 season and narrowly missed the playoffs. He would later lead Tennessee to an AFC Championship appearance, but never reached the Super Bowl as a head coach.

The Titans fired Vrabel in January 2024 after two straight losing seasons. Now, just two years later, he finds himself back on the sport’s biggest stage, this time with New England.
