TRAVIS KELCE TALKING TO ‘EVERY MAJOR NETWORK’ AMID RETIREMENT DECISION

Travis Kelce has spent years laying the groundwork for life after football, but that planning has not pushed him toward retirement.

Sources say the Kansas City Chiefs star has been in regular discussions with major television networks and streaming platforms, including Netflix, as part of long-term career thinking rather than an exit strategy. Those conversations have continued quietly alongside his playing career and have not dictated his next move on the field.

Kelce, 36, has yet to confirm whether he will return for a 14th NFL season. The Chiefs’ early postseason exit has simply created time and space he has rarely had before.

Travis Kelce taking stock

For the first time in over a decade, Kelce enters an offseason without playoff football, a shift that has changed the rhythm of his decision-making.

Speaking after the Chiefs’ final game of the season, Kelce said he planned to sit down with the organisation, complete exit meetings, and spend time with family before committing to anything.

“Either it hits me quick or I gotta take some time,” Kelce said. “I think last year was a little bit easier.”

That uncertainty reflects timing rather than intent. Kelce has managed his career with precision, rarely rushing major calls, and this offseason has added complexity rather than urgency.

Media future already taking shape

Kelce’s growing media presence has been impossible to miss. He has hosted Saturday Night Live, fronted commercials, appeared in film projects, and built one of the most listened-to sports podcasts in the US alongside his brother, Jason.

The New Heights podcast has become a weekly platform that blurs the line between athlete access and mainstream entertainment, while Kelce’s comfort on camera has only expanded his appeal.

Sources say network interest has followed that trajectory for several years, with conversations centred on hosting, production roles, and broader entertainment projects rather than a single post-football job.

Kelce himself has joked about the transition. On a recent episode of New Heights, he referred to podcasting as his “only job” during the offseason, a line delivered with humour but grounded in reality.

Return to football not off the table

Despite the noise around his off-field profile, Kelce has not suggested his playing days are over.

The Chiefs remain a competitive roster, and Kelce has stayed productive when healthy. Any decision to walk away would come after internal conversations rather than external pressure.

His personal life has also entered a new phase following his engagement to Taylor Swift, a relationship that has placed him firmly in the public spotlight beyond sports. Even so, those close to Kelce say football decisions remain his own.
