TOM ASPINALL WANTS TO FIGHT WWE LEGEND AFTER UFC BLOCKED LAST ATTEMPT

UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall has revealed his desire for a big match with a WWE legend after the UFC blocked his last attempt to get involved with the company.

Aspinall became UFC heavyweight champion in June, after Jon Jones announced his retirement. The Englishman had previously become interim champion in 2023 when he knocked out Sergei Pavlovich.

With a record of 15 wins and only three losses, Aspinall is a UFC star and has become one of the most recognisable faces in the company.

He has cropped up elsewhere, recently getting into the ring to exchange words with WWE stars Gunther and Cody Rhodes while they were in the United Kingdom.

Aspinall has revealed the UFC blocked him from anything physical but told KISS XTRA of his dream fight with a WWE legend.

“I went to a WWE recently and I wanted to do a little bit, like, I wanted to punch someone, just make some good headlines and stuff.

“The UFC actually wouldn’t let me do it. So I got in the ring and did some talking, but it wasn’t the same. I wanted to, like, really be involved.

“That was with Cody Rhodes and Gunther – great guys, loved them both.

“But I used to watch it when The Rock was in, Randy Orton, John Cena. They were the top boys when I was watching it. They’re a bit old school now.

“But probably The Rock. I’d like to, maybe.”

Aspinall is fighting in the UFC soon, as he’ll face Ciryl Gane at the Etihad in his home city of Manchester on Sunday October 26.
