Tennis icon Martina Navratilova underlined her disdain for American President Donald Trump with another furious rant on X.
The 18-time Grand Slam winner went after the United States leader, criticising him over the ongoing ‘Epstein Files’ saga.
Since surfacing in 2020, the files have fueled endless conspiracy theories, linking high-profile celebrities and politicians with now deceased child sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein.
During his presidential campaign, Trump initially promised to release the so-called ‘Epstein files’. These documents relate to the criminal investigations into Epstein.
However, the American President has since backtracked on that promise, leading to frustration from his base.
“If Trump didn’t show up in the Epstein files in a really bad way (rapes, pedophilia) he would have released them long ago, no matter who else goes down,” Navratilova wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
She added: “He only cares, and will ever care, about himself. But because it’s clear what he has done, we won’t see them if Trump can help it.”
Navratilova irks Trump’s supporters
Renewed calls for transparency over the Epstein Files has given Navratilova more ammunition.
However, her latest rant on X appears to have rubbed Trump supporters the wrong way.
When faced with the backlash, the tennis icon said: “Really funny to see all the MAGA people saying ‘What about Biden’ when I talk about Trump’s failure to release the Epstein files-whatever they might contain.”
She later added: “You all know why Trump isn’t releasing them-he has all the power. Democrats are all for it, regardless of who’s in them!”
Tennis icon brands Trump a ‘wimp’
Trump made history on Friday when the American President met his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
The two leaders discussed the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, though their meeting failed to land an immediate agreement.
Navratilova took a shot at Trump over the meeting, saying: “Trump is so weak it’s not even funny. There is literally no other explanation other than compromat of the highest degree for his cowardly behavior. What a wimp.”
