RASHEE RICE SUED FOR $1M+ AS EX-PARTNER ALLEGES 19 MONTHS OF ASSAULT

Rashee Rice is facing a new civil lawsuit in Dallas County, with his former partner accusing the Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver of repeated domestic violence over 19 months.

The suit, filed this week, alleges that Rice assaulted Dacoda Jones multiple times between December 2023 and July 2025 at homes in Dallas and Missouri. Jones, who is the mother of two of Rice’s children, is seeking more than $1 million in damages.

According to the filing, Rice “continued to repeatedly assault” Jones during their relationship. The petition claims incidents included choking, strangling, scratching, hitting and headbutting, along with throwing objects and damaging property.

The lawsuit states that Jones suffered bleeding, swelling, bruising and other injuries to her neck, face, mouth, arms, legs, chest and shoulder. It further alleges that several of the incidents occurred while she was pregnant.

Jones is seeking damages for physical pain and mental anguish, medical costs, loss of earning capacity, impairment and disfigurement. The filing also requests punitive damages, alleging intentional and grossly negligent conduct.

Rice’s legal response

Rice’s attorney, Sean Lindsey, issued a statement in response to the filing.

Lindsey said that on October 9, 2025, Jones signed an affidavit for non-prosecution under penalty of perjury stating that Rice did not punch her and that an incident referenced at the time was a verbal argument.

“We will allow the legal process to run its course and have no further comment at this time,” Lindsey said.

Rice has not personally commented on the lawsuit. When approached recently regarding prior allegations shared on social media, he declined to respond.

NFL investigation and prior legal issues

The NFL has launched an investigation into Rice under its Personal Conduct Policy. The league’s review remains active.

The civil case is separate from Rice’s previous legal troubles stemming from a high-speed crash in Dallas in March 2024. In July 2025, Rice pleaded guilty to felony racing on a highway and felony accident causing serious bodily injury.

He received five years of probation and was ordered to serve 30 days in the Dallas County jail intermittently over that period. Rice also paid approximately $115,000 in restitution to victims and served a six-game suspension to begin the 2025 NFL season.

On the field, Rice completed his third NFL season after emerging as a full-time starter in 2025. He recorded a career-high 103 tackles and two interceptions.

The lawsuit now moves into the civil court process, where both sides are expected to present their cases.
