Denver Broncos cornerback Jahdae Barron sparked a storm this week after using Taylor Swift to taunt her fiancé Travis Kelce after a 22–19 win over the Kansas City Chiefs.
The rookie produced one of his best games of the season in the AFC West matchup. He spent long stretches covering Kelce and helped hold the Chiefs’ offence in check.
However, the attention moved off the field when Barron posted a now-deleted message on Instagram.
In the photo, he tightens coverage on Kelce during the Week 11 meeting. Under it, he wrote, “Tell Swift put me on a song.” He added “RIGHT NOW” underneath for emphasis.
Swifties react after Barron’s post spreads
The caption referenced Swift’s recent album “The Life of a Showgirl”, which contains several tracks about her relationship with Kelce.
The post travelled quickly across social media and reached Swift’s fanbase, who rarely stay silent when her name appears in NFL chatter.
One user wrote, “If he’s not afraid of the Swifties, he should be. Good luck to him.”
Another added, “Do they have to keep putting Taylor in their digs? She doesn’t play football.”
As the comments piled up, Barron returned to Instagram to clarify his intent.
“Y’all trolling on my phone,” he wrote. “I’m trying to be an artist. I just want some help.”
Travis Kelce voices frustration
Kansas City’s loss pushed them into unfamiliar territory. Another defeat this weekend against the surging Indianapolis Colts would see the Chiefs match their most regular-season losses of the Patrick Mahomes era with six games still to play.
Kelce discussed the team’s issues on the latest episode of his New Heights podcast with brother Jason. He touched on penalties, stalled drives, and the pressure of entering the stretch run at .500.
“Procedural penalties are the most frustrating thing ever,” he said. “Putting up touchdowns instead of field goals, man. We’re 5–5 and we’ve basically got to run the table.”
Kelce urged teammates to regroup as the season pivots toward its decisive stage.
“Everybody’s got to look themselves in the mirror,” he said. “Put all that selfish stuff aside and make it about the team.”
