FORMER US OPEN FINALIST ANNA KOURNIKOVA PREGNANT AT 44 DESPITE MAJOR HEALTH SCARE

Former tennis star Anna Kournikova is preparing to welcome her fourth child to the world at the age of 44.

According the Spanish news outlet Hola, the Russian is halfway into her pregnancy, with sources reporting that things are progressing well.

Kournikova and her partner Enrique Iglesias already have three kids, including a five-year-old and a set of seven-year-old twins.

The Russian tennis ace retired from the sport back in 2003 and has been in a relationship with 50-year-old Iglesias since 2001.

Kournikova enjoyed a good career in tennis, turning professional at the young age of just 14.

The Moscow-born star reached eighth in singles rankings, but never won a Grand Slam title on her own.

Her best run at a major tournament as a singles player took place in 1997 when she reached the semi-final at Wimbledon.

Kournikova enjoyed more success in doubles and mixed doubles, winning two Australian Open doubles crowns and reaching the the US Open final of the mixed tournament in 2000.

Kournikova recently spotted on a wheelchair

Earlier this year, Kournikova gave her fans a health scare after she was spotted on a wheelchair in a rare public outing.

The Russian was also wearing an orthopedic boot, and appeared to have a bandaged toe, raising alarms about her wellbeing.

A report in Hola quashed rumors of ill-health, with Kournikova’s mother-in-law revealing the former tennis star suffered a minor foot sprain.

Just a few weeks later, Kournikova was once against spotted in Miami, this time enjoying a boat ride with her family.
