FORMER CHELSEA MIDFIELDER SAYS HE HAS “A FEW DAYS LEFT” IN HEARTBREAKING HEALTH UPDATE

A former Chelsea soccer player has shared a devastating health update, telling followers he has “a few days left” as he battles a serious, undisclosed illness.

Lamisha Musonda, now 33, posted a series of messages on Instagram describing a prolonged fight to regain his health and the reality he is now facing.

“This has been a tough and gruelling couple of years for me,” he wrote. “I had to come to grips that my health is in a critical condition and I am now just fighting to stay alive.”

The posts marked his first public update in some time and explained why he had stepped away from social media during his illness.

‘Fighting until my last breath’

Musonda said he and his family are still holding on.

“My family and I are fighting and I won’t quit until it is time for my last breath,” he wrote, asking for prayers and support.

He did not disclose the nature of the illness but spoke openly about the emotional toll of accepting how little time he may have left.

“As I realize I only have a few days left, I also realize I had a lot of people by my side,” he added. “I’ll always cherish the memories.”

The messages were shared alongside photos from his playing career, including images from his teenage years in England and later spells abroad.

A career that promised more

Musonda joined Chelsea FC as a highly rated prospect and spent several years developing within the club’s youth system.

He later moved on in search of first-team football, playing professionally in Belgium, Spain and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Reflecting on those years, Musonda said he had “been blessed with a beautiful early stage of my life” and expressed regret at possibly not being able to thank everyone who helped him along the way.

“It pains me that I might not have the chance to do so,” he wrote. “I love you all.”

Football runs in the family

Musonda was born into a footballing household. His father and brothers also played professionally, spending time in academies and senior teams across Belgium and England.

That background shaped his early rise and helped him reach one of Europe’s biggest clubs, even if his career never fully unfolded as hoped.

He officially retired from football in 2020.

Now, his story has shifted from unrealised football promise to something far heavier.

“Life is hard,” Musonda wrote in his final message. “But the view is great.”
