Larry became popular among WWE fans during Punk’s return to the company last year.
He appeared frequently in backstage videos, interacted with talent in several light-hearted clips and even featured at the WWE Mattel panel at San Diego Comic Con.
His face appeared on T-shirts and plush toys, and toy companies produced action figures of Punk with Larry included.
The emotional tribute shared by Punk captured that sense of connection. “The grief we carry is the price we pay for unconditional love,” he wrote.
“Our little Larry crossed the rainbow bridge, wrapped tightly in our arms. He was safe and happy. Surrounded by love.” He went on to say that they rescued Larry from PAWS Chicago in 2015 and that he changed their lives.
The post described the joy Larry brought, the places he visited, and the comfort he offered during difficult moments. Punk added that their home feels quiet, yet they continue to hear the familiar sound of Larry’s paws and collar.

WWE acknowledged Larry’s passing on its official website, sharing a photo and sending condolences to Punk and AJ. The gesture reflected how closely fans associated Larry with the couple and how often he appeared alongside them in public.
His popularity grew again when Punk returned to WWE after nearly a decade away, as Larry quickly became part of the renewed spotlight.
Meanwhile, Punk continues to play an active role on WWE television. At Survivor Series on Saturday, he wrestled in the men’s WarGames match and wore a jacket with the words “Larry’s dad” stitched on the chest.
