Soccer star Christian Pulisic has publicly dismissed online rumours linking him to actress Sydney Sweeney, calling the claims false and urging people to stop spreading made-up stories about his personal life.
The speculation surfaced online over the Christmas period before gaining traction across social media. Pulisic responded directly, using his own platform to shut the story down.

“Please stop with the made up stories about my personal life,” Christian Pulisic wrote on his Instagram Stories on December 28. “Need to hold sources accountable it can affect people’s lives.”
He followed up by commenting under another post that repeated the claim.
“Fake news guys let’s stop with the silly rumor.”
Where the rumour started
According to reporting credited by PEOPLE, the unverified claim originated with the Italian gossip outlet Gazzetta and an Instagram page called Bomber’s DNA. From there, the suggestion of a relationship between Pulisic and Sydney Sweeney spread quickly online.
There has been no evidence supporting the claim, and neither party had been linked publicly before the speculation began.
Pulisic’s decision to address the rumour directly is notable. He rarely comments on his private life, but the tone of his response made clear his frustration with how quickly unverified stories can circulate.
Relationship context
Pulisic has reportedly been dating fellow athlete Alexa Melton since 2024. While the pair keep their relationship largely private, multiple outlets have linked them consistently over the past year.

“Scooter and Sydney are going strong and things between them are great,” the source said. “They’re in a committed relationship and things are serious.”
