Brooke Hogan has explained why she missed Hulk Hogan’s funeral, breaking her silence in a surprise podcast appearance.
The 37-year-old called in to Bubba the Love Sponge’s show on Tuesday, marking her first public comments since her father’s death on July 24.
She hadn’t spoken to Bubba in over a decade, following the sex tape scandal that rocked Hulk Hogan’s public and private life.
Despite their history, Brooke stayed on the call for nearly an hour. She referred to Bubba as “Uncle Bubba” and spoke openly about grief, family tension, and why she chose not to attend the service.
“I wasn’t invited,” she said. “But even if I was, I think I would’ve stayed away to keep the peace.”
Brooke revealed she had asked to be removed from her father’s will in 2023. She said the decision came while she was “sobbing” and texting his assistant to be taken out of the estate plan.
“I just said, take me off everything. I don’t want to be a part of it.”
She explained that the choice was about more than money. After becoming pregnant with twins, she said her priorities changed. “Money didn’t matter anymore. I just didn’t want to fight.”

Part of her fear came from past conflict involving her mother, Linda Hogan, and Hulk’s final wife, Sky Daily. “I don’t want to fight Linda. I don’t want to fight Scientology,” she said. “It scared me. I wanted out.”
Hulk Hogan died of cardiac arrest at his home in Clearwater Beach. Medical records also revealed a history of leukemia and atrial fibrillation. He was 71.
Brooke didn’t attend Hulk Hogan’s funeral, but she honored him in her own way. On Instagram, she posted a black-and-white childhood photo and wrote:
“We’ll be celebrating your life and all our good memories while we have our feet in the same saltwater you loved. Until we meet again, daddy.”
She added that she took her children to the beach, her father’s favorite place.
“I had my goodbye,” she said. “And I think he knew I loved him.”
