BAD BUNNY REVEALS SUPER BOWL OUTFIT PLANS AS DRESS RUMOURS SWIRL

Bad Bunny will not be wearing a dress during his NFL Super Bowl halftime show, despite viral rumours suggesting otherwise.

The outfit chatter surfaced this week after online speculation claimed the Puerto Rican star planned to wear a gown during the show.

That rumour travelled at speed, partly because his Super Bowl booking has already proved divisive.

While the dress rumour has now been shut down, the controversy around this year’s halftime lineup shows no sign of easing.

Dress talk shut down

Sources close to the production told TMZ that Bad Bunny has no plans to wear a dress during the performance. They declined to reveal what he will wear instead.

The rumour had framed the outfit choice as a gesture of solidarity with the queer community. That narrative drew heavy reaction online before being quietly debunked.

For now, the only confirmed detail is what will not happen. The rest of the visual reveal remains a mystery.

Who is performing at the Super Bowl

Bad Bunny will headline the halftime show at the Super Bowl in Santa Clara next month. He will be joined as part of the wider entertainment lineup by Green Day.

The NFL confirmed both acts earlier this month, immediately triggering a strong reaction from sections of the fanbase. The pairing places two outspoken artists at the centre of the league’s biggest stage.

Why Bad Bunny has become a flashpoint

Bad Bunny’s selection has drawn criticism from conservative commentators and MAGA-aligned groups. Much of that backlash centres on his political views, including criticism of US immigration policy and previous comments about ICE.

He has also performed primarily in Spanish throughout his career, something critics have pointed to when questioning his suitability for the NFL’s showpiece event.

Donald Trump weighed in on the decision over the weekend, saying he would not attend the game and criticising the NFL’s choice of performers.

“I’m anti-them,” Trump told the New York Post. “I think it’s a terrible choice. All it does is sow hatred.”

Trump added that distance, rather than the game itself, was the reason he would skip the Super Bowl, saying he would have attended if it were held closer to Washington.

Green Day’s political views

The inclusion of Green Day has only intensified the reaction.

The band has a long history of public political statements, including altering lyrics during live performances to criticise MAGA politics.

At Coachella last year, the group changed a line in American Idiot to reference the “MAGA agenda,” a moment that circulated widely online.
