ANDY MURRAY’S BROTHER SPLITS FROM WIFE AFTER 15 YEARS AMID ‘EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TIME’

Two-time doubles Grand Slam winner Jamie Murray has divorced Alejandra Gutierrez after 15 years of marriage according to The Sun.

Jamie, who is the brother of former world number one Andy Murray, separated from his wife last year. The divorce was completed last August.

Murray won seven Grand Slam titles as a doubles and mixed doubles tennis star.

Since his divorce, the Scot has joined the popular celebrity dating app, Raya. The former Olympian described himself as an athlete who ‘travels the world playing tennis’ on the platform.

A spokesman for the 39-year-old tennis star said: “Jamie and Alejandra Murray divorced on August 22, 2025, having separated the previous year.

“As with any divorce, this is an extremely difficult time for Jamie and Alejandra and they would appreciate that their privacy is respected whilst they navigate their future and protect their family.”

Jamie and Gutierrez are parents to daughter Ava, who is three years old.

In March 2025, Jamie became the first British player in history to play 1,000 matches at tour-level in the doubles format.

Away from the court, Murray has also kept busy. The tennis star was named tournament director of the popular Queen’s Championship – the warm-up tournament for Wimbledon.

Back in November 2024, the Scot was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Stirling. This was due to the recognition of his contributions to tennis in Scotland and the UK.

Murray’s brother Andy, meanwhile, is trying his hand at golf.

The three-time Grand Slam champion retired from tennis after the 2024 Paris Olympics.

He recently revealed his ambition of becoming a scratch golfer as he prepares to compete at next month’s Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
