MICHAEL JORDAN GOES FISHING WITH SOBER SON – REUNITING AFTER ROMANCE WITH TEAMMATE’S EX ENDS

Previously estranged NBA legend Michael Jordan and his son, Marcus, are rekindling their troubled relationship – and they’re doing it in style.

The two were spotted in a rare meeting together aboard the former Chicago Bulls star’s $8million yacht, named Catch 23.

The pair were together, competing in the prestigious White Marlin Open off the coast of Ocean City in Maryland on Jordan’s custom sportsfishing beast.

Working in tandem alongside their crew, they caught a colossal 71-pound white marlin, which was deemed good enough for second place.

They’re triumph saw them cash a $400,000 check in the event widely considered the ‘Super Bowl’ of deep-sea fishing.

The unlikely team returned to dock the vessel with the iconic Sirius song blaring, a former entrance song for Michael Jordan during his NBA career.

More than just prize money for Michael Jordan and his son

The father and son team celebrated their success, but this win was larger than just a payday in the sun.

For Marcus Jordan, it marked another step forward in his recovery and relationship with his father.

The two had been estranged for years, with the 34-year-old son’s high-profile romance with Larsa Pippen, the ex-wife of Jordan’s Chicago Bulls teammate Scottie Pippen.

That relationship ended in 2024, but more problems emerged for MJ and his son’s troubled journey.

Marcus was arrested in Florida for DUI, ketamine possession and then resisting arrest.

And he’s since turned to sobriety…

Last month, Marcus announced he was 100 days clean without drugs and alcohol, with the turning point the deaths of two idols of his youth.

Wrestling icon Hulk Hogan and singer Ozzie Osbourne passed away, and their tragic losses made him realise life’s preciousness during his struggles.

The famous son of the six-time NBA champion updated Instagram in July, announcing he’d reconnected with his parents, Michael Jordan and Juanita Vanoy, as well as his siblings Jasmine and Jeffrey:

For Michael, the fishing tournament was business as usual – the widely considered GOAT of basketball has been a regular at the White Marlin Open in recent years as a new passion in life after sport.

But for Marcus, the fishing event symbolized a chapter of reconciliation as he looked leaner and considerably healthier as they hauled the prize marlin onto Catch 23.

His Instagram updates since the event suggest he’s more determined than ever to maintain the positive changes in his life.

He’s admitted to coming near to having a drink since his sobriety, but has publicly thanked his family and support network for keeping his sober streak rolling.

The pair missed out on a $4.72million first prize

The only catch that stood in the way of them and first prize was a 72-pound monster by renowned angler Dan Gough, who pocketed a staggering $4.72 million for his top effort.

While the top prize payout is mind-boggling to some, tournament veteran Jimmy David put it and Michael Jordan’s fishing talent into perspective.

He claimed: “It’s the biggest (fishing) tournament, the best of the best fishing.

“Michael Jordan, Navy brass, celebrities – it’s truly the Super Bowl of the sport.”
