Dodger Stadium felt more like a concert venue than a ballpark on Monday night as BTS star Kim Taehyung, better known as V, threw the first pitch at a Dodgers game.
Fans had queued for hours, some arriving with BTS light sticks, others in Dodgers jerseys. Once inside, they created a wall of sound that rattled through Los Angeles long before the first pitch.
When V emerged from the dugout, he wore a Dodgers jersey with the number 7. The gesture, honouring all seven BTS members, sent ARMY into another round of cheers.
His left-handed throw reached Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who crouched behind the plate and caught it clean. The two embraced before smiling for the cameras.

V then stepped to the mic and delivered the iconic “It’s time for Dodger baseball!” battle cry.
Baseball’s biggest names meet V
The energy extended beyond the stands. V spent time with Shohei Ohtani, Clayton Kershaw, and Yamamoto before the game, chatting and taking photos.
Even though Korean Dodgers star Hyeseong Kim missed the night, he FaceTimed V for a personal moment. Players and coaches treated the visit like a major event, proof of how far K-pop’s reach has spread.
On social media, clips spread within minutes. One fan wrote on X: “Only V can turn a baseball game into a BTS concert.”
The footage showed fans waving banners and photocards as though they were in Seoul rather than Los Angeles. For many, the number on his back mattered as much as the pitch itself.
Other BTS members have walked the same path. J-Hope and Jungkook have both thrown ceremonial first pitches, while fellow K-pop star Seungmin from Stray Kids did the same last year. Yet the noise inside Dodger Stadium made V’s turn feel different.
