VICTOR ROBLES RECEIVES HUGE PUNISHMENT AMID APOLOGY FOR EPIC BAT-THROWING MELTDOWN

Victor Robles is suspended for 10 games after he threw his bat toward a pitcher during a rehab assignment. The incident happened on Sunday while he played for Triple-A Tacoma against the Las Vegas Aviators.

MLB announced the decision on Tuesday and confirmed Robles must also pay an undisclosed fine. His punishment begins only when he rejoins Seattle’s active roster.

That rule means the ban starts once he returns to the majors. Until then, his clock remains frozen at the minor league level.

Robles reacted after Joey Estes hit him with a pitch, continuing their tense history. Estes had plunked him earlier in the week and again last September while with Oakland.

The outfielder’s frustration boiled over in dramatic fashion. He hurled his bat toward the mound before throwing sunflower seeds from the dugout.

Footage of the clash spread online within minutes. Fans on social media quickly labelled the behaviour reckless and dangerous.

Robles soon posted an apology in response to the backlash. He admitted he “let my frustration get the best of me” during the outburst.

“I want to take a moment to sincerely apologise for my recent reaction on the field. I let my frustrations get the best of me, and I understand how that may have affected not just the game, but the energy and respect we all work so hard to maintain.

“Coming off a long rehab and being away from the game for most of the season has been physically and mentally challenging,” he wrote. “Adding to that, the recent passing of my mother has been incredibly hard, and I’ve been doing my best to hold it together.

“That’s not an excuse, but some context, I feel you deserve to understand where I’m coming from.

“I’m committed to being better, not just as a player, but as a teammate and competitor. I appreciate your understanding, and I’m grateful to be back on the field doing what I love.”

Victor Robles being suspended adds to an already turbulent year. Seattle signed him in 2024 after a blistering half-season that earned him a two-year, $9.75m extension.

The promise of 2025 ended in April when he injured his shoulder making a diving catch. He said he had no regrets about the play, even though it cost him months of action.

Instead of a smooth return, he has now become the subject of one of baseball’s strangest ejections. His name is back in the spotlight, but for the wrong reasons.

The Mariners will feel the impact of his suspension once he rejoins their lineup. For Robles, the pressure will be on to prove this episode does not define his season.
