President Donald Trump was given a mixed reception at Yankees Stadium as the commander in chief attended an MLB game on the 24th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attack.
Trump met the New York Yankees team and gave them a pep talk ahead of their clash with the Detroit Lions.
“You’re gonna win. You’re gonna go all the way,” Trump told the players in the clubhouse before the game.
The President also shook hands with Yankees star Aaron Judge.
“You have that much muscle, you have to hit the ball perfect,” Trump told the 33-year-old. “You’re a fantastic player. … You’re an unbelievable player.”
Judge went on to have a terrific performance, hitting his 45th and 46th home runs of the season.

The president, joined by several congressional and Trump administration officials, appeared to be greeted warmly by the fans.
The 79-year-old was seated near New York Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner and team president Randy Levine.

Members of New York’s congressional delegation, including Mike Lawler, Nick LaLota, Nicole Malliotakis and Elise Stefanik, were also sat near the president.
During the broadcast, the crowd can be heard cheering when Trump appeared on the video screen during the singing of the Star-Spangled Banner.
However, video footage from fans posted on social media appear to show a number of disgruntled fans as well.

Trump watched the game from the Steinbrenner family suite at Yankee Stadium. He was also protected by three panes of bulletproof glass.
The president broke out his signature dance when “YMCA” started to play on the speakers.
He left the game in the 7th inning, shortly after the signing of ‘God Bless America’.
The New York Yankees won the game 9-3.
