UFC boss Dana White was involved in a heated exchange with a reporter during the final press conference for Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford’s blockbuster bout.
Saturday’s fight at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas promises to be one of the biggest fights of the year.
Alvarez is putting his WBA, WBC, WBO and IBF super-middleweight titles on the line. Crawford, who is stepping up two weight classes for the fight, will be looking to defend his unbeaten professional record.
Should the American prevail, he will make history by becoming the first male boxer to become the undisputed champion across three divisions.
The entire card will be available to Netflix subscribers across the globe. With over 300 million people to their name, Saturday’s bout is expected to have a huge viewership.
Why did Dana White argue with a reporter?
As is the case with press conferences, members of the media took turns to ask questions.
Instead of asking boring old questions, reporter Sean Zittel ruffled White’s feathers by hitting on a serious topic.
The reporter wanted to strike a discussion about the Muhammad Ali Act of 2000.
This is a piece of US federal law which was passed to protect boxers’ rights and also help prevent the formation of monopolies in boxing.

“Why do you want to make sweeping changes to the Muhammad Ali reform act that is meant to protect fighters?” asked Zittel.
“This is obviously a long discussion,” said White, as he attempted to shut the discussion down.
“If you want to talk about that, then set up an interview. This isn’t about me. My business is about these two guys on Saturday night.”
Zittel attempted to probe the UFC chief for a second time on the matter.
However, White interjected: “Listen, I get it, you want to showboat right now. Set up an interview with me if this is really what you want to talk about.”
The reporter persisted, much to White’s growing frustration.
The irked UFC boss responded: “Listen, if you want to be an a*****e, let’s do it in private and we can do an interview.
“If you want to showboat, I get it, if you have questions for these two that are fighting on Saturday, that’s a different story.”
White finally asked whether Zittel had a question for the boxers. When the reporter said ‘no’, he was told to ‘beat it’ by White.
